In the beginning...
|
|
It
was in 1946 that Mr Roger DAMY built his business in Nantoux, a
small village in the High Côtes de Beaune. His son Jacques
joined the family business which has moved to Meursault, after winning
the gold medal in the "Best craftsman of France" competition.
Mr Jacques Damy became a Master Cooper after he won.
Since then, the Damy Cooperage has constantly grown, and has now
become a main player in old-style traditional production casks.
The baton has now been passed on to Mr Jérôme Damy
who continues to fabricate barrels in respect with the family tradition.
